I seriously thought that there would be a $100K loss or that there would be some really bad playing here thanks to chilidogwof hunting me that the ep wasn’t gonna be pretty, but I was thankfully wrong. Guess the wheel wasn’t going to act nice today. I love Pat’s remark to Jim at the beginning of the second round. Katla McGlynn After the now-famous 'Wheel Of Fortune' guess 'self potato' became an Internet sensation this week, we got to wondering: How many other ridiculous game show moments are out there. Instead: SELF-POTATO. January 4, 2010: Perhaps the biggest example of stupidity on Wheel involved the puzzle REGIS PHILBIN & KELLY RIPA. You'd Expect: That even three military servicemen, who maybe don't get to watch TV that much while on active duty, would still recognize two people who have long since become household names.

A WHEEL of Fortune contestant named Julian recently lost his chance at winning one million dollars, a car, and trips to London and Jamaica. And he did it, again and again, in the most embarrassing ways possible.
Oh, Julian. You poor thing.

It wasn’t all intensely incorrect guesses on pretty much already-solved puzzles for literally the best prizes on the wheel, though — about halfway through this video, he gets one right! “Science Project Runway.”
News_Rich_Media: Game show
“Hey, remember when I was on Wheel of Fortune and got ‘Science Project Runway’ right?” Julian will forever ask friends and loved ones. “Science Project Runway!”
While I don’t think either “ay-chill-is” or “on the spot dice-spin” (hahaha) will soar to “Self-Potato” levels of infamy, I think it’s safe to say that both will live quite comfortably beside “I Have The Wine By Johnny Cash”.
Did you get it right?
2017-05-18From its humble beginnings as a daytime show in the 1970s to its cult following today, Wheel of Fortune has earned the nickname “America’s Game.”
Jeopardy
However, a recent puzzle has the internet scratching its collective noggin.
A podcast host who goes by the Twitter handle “Twitter’s Good Boy” shared a screen shot of the unfortunate puzzle, which has had thousands of likes, retweets and guesses.

Along with “Suck it dork,” incorrect answers ran the gamut from this…

The actual correct answer was “Back at work,” which the contestant guessed in under one minute.
Other Wheel Of Fortune Fails
Obviously, this is not the first time a Wheel of Fortune puzzle has garnered a reaction.

There was the time contestant Kevin Haas chose a single incorrect letter, vastly altering the Tennessee Williams classic to “Streetcar Naked Desire.”

And was promptly ridiculed…
Dude on Wheel of Fortune had to solve this:
A STREETCAR NA_ED DESIRE
He asked for a K.
I’m gonna go lie down.

Haas was a good sport about the whole thing. He released a statement, in which he said, in part:
“I am happy I brought so many smiles to you all, and so I will smile with you and look back onto this moment and join you in the laughs. That my friends, is the naked truth.”
Avid viewers of The Wheel may also recall “Popsicle Bike.”

Then there was the poor, panicked player who thought “Self-potato” somehow made sense.
RT @Caissie: A lady on Wheel of Fortune just guessed the answer to SELF-PO_T_A_T was 'Self-Potato.'

However, perhaps no Wheel of Fortune fail was as awesomely awkward as the poor contestant who botched not one, not two but three puzzles in one show.
Of course, it is easy to play armchair contestant, thinking you could win every round. According to the game show’s FAQs, more than 1 million people vied for a Wheel audition last year while fewer than 600 people actually made it onto the show.
